Scottish-born Jillian Halleron started her singing tuition at the age of 8 years old. Jillian was involved in a number of productions in Scotland including Fife Opera’s Hansel and Gretel and a professional production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

When Jillian was 14 in 2005 she immigrated with her family to Perth, Western Australia. When she arrived she continued her studies at Woodvale High School concentrating on learning the trumpet within the school music programme. Simultaneously she was privately being coached classical voice with a number of different teachers in the Perth region.

In 2013 Jillian was accepted into the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and completed a Certificate IV in Music and the following year she was accepted into the Bachelor of Music (Classical Vocal – Performance). Jillian was involved in a number of productions during her time at WAAPA including Handel’s Acis and Galatea, Brendan Hanson’s Life is a Cabaret, the world premiere of Melba written by Nicholas Christo and Johannes Luebbers, the role of 2nd Woman in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and in her graduating year played the role of the Reporter in Poulenc’s Les Mamelles de Tiresias. During her time at WAAPA, Jillian also participated in the WAAPA International Art Song Academy in both 2016 and 2017 having masterclasses with Dame Felicity Lott, Dennis O’Neill and Dr Graham Johnson.

Jillian completed her Bachelor of Music at the end of 2017. Following this she started studying privately under the tutelage of Gregory Yurisich AM. In 2018, Jillian was involved in a number of productions including, West Australian Opera’s production of Carmen, and Freeze Frame Opera’s production of I Pagliacci. She also placed 1st in the Vocal solo open championship section of the North of Perth Music Festival.

Before relocating to Sydney in 2019, Jillian performed the role of The Witch in the premiere of the award winning Perth Fringe World show Maisie.

Whilst she was in Sydney, Jillian was an associate artist in Pacific Opera's 2019 program and started studying with renowned tenor Glenn Winslade. 

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic Jillian has temporarily returned to Perth, Western Australia, however this hasn't stopped her - Jillian has recently partnered with fellow Soprano Magda Lisek and together they have created a new online concert platform called Couch Opera Live. 

Jillian has always been keen to expand her skills and learn about different aspects of Opera performance making. She has been fortunate to be surtitle operator of WAAPA’s production of Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Freeze Frame Opera’s production of La Boheme. She was also the stage manager of Freeze Frame Opera’s Opera at the Quarry, and Christmas at the Quarry productions. In 2018, Jillian also joined the committee of Opera Lovers WA and Music Amica.

 Jillian is a passionate, versatile, soprano who brings a vibrant energy to all of her performances. She enjoys singing a wide variety of music including, Musical Theatre, Jazz but particularly music of the Classical repertoire. Jillian loves to perform at a variety of events.
